Cosmetic Dentistry
Healthy teeth and gums, fresh breath and the confidence to eat all the foods we like provides genuine quality of life. But confidence also stems from knowing we can smile freely without worrying about how we look or how others may judge us. An attractive, youthful-looking smile provides that confidence and by offering cosmetic dentistry at Morden Dentist we know that how our patients look is now a matter of choice rather than chance.
Our dentists in Morden will discuss what you do and don’t like about your teeth, explain your options and provide an accurate quote for the treatment involved.

Teeth Whitening
There are different ways you can whiten your teeth and at Morden Dentist we’re delighted to offer a variety of teeth whitening options. Whichever teeth whitening option you choose, at Morden Dentist we recommend first booking a dental examination and ensuring you are suitable for treatment.
We offer a full dental check-up and would also recommend a hygiene appointment for any plaque or decay build-up and airflow cleaning, prior to whitening. The different types of whitening we offer are:
- At Home Whitening with the Boutique Home Whitening system – Custom-made trays are created for you to fit perfectly over your teeth, like very thin gum shields. You then place tooth whitening gel in the trays in the comfort of your own home. The trays with the gel are worn for a set period, usually once a day for 7-14 days.
- Zoom Laser whitening – We also offer a combination of home whitening and in surgery whitening, with In-chair Zoom laser whitening for a faster and extra brilliant effect.
- Swarovski tooth gems and crystals – We are pleased to offer our patients this popular service, please ask your dentist.
At reception we sell Boutique Whitening Toothpaste to help your whitening last longer. We can also provide further bleaching gel syringes (charged for), should you need more at a later date.
Whitening is also the perfect gift for a family member or friend. Feel free to enquire at reception about our tooth whitening gift vouchers.
Veneers & Composite Bonding
For that perfect, glossy, Hollywood smile you may want to consider composite or porcelain veneers. Ideal for patients with chipped or broken teeth or with a gappy smile.
We also work with Smilefast which allows us to guide you through your treatment planning, allowing you to visualise your planned new smile, understand your smile journey and see your life-changing smile results.
- Veneers are made from porcelain or resin composite and are thin shells that cover the entire tooth surface. Placing the veneers involves removing a thin layer of tooth enamel.
- Veneers are a more permanent solution than composite bonding and are used to address more significant cosmetic problems.
- Veneers take at least 2 appointments to complete.
- Composite bonding is made from a tooth-coloured resin, similar to that used in a tooth-coloured filling, and is a type of dental cement.
- Composite bonding involves roughing the tooth surface but not to the extent that is used for the placing of veneers, hence it is less invasive.
- Bonding can be done in one visit.

Veneers FAQs
A veneer is a very thin piece of porcelain crafted by a cosmetic dentist into the shape of a tooth. Each veneer is different because each is customised for the individual and their smile goals. The thin piece of porcelain is applied over the natural tooth or teeth to cover any cosmetic imperfections like stained, chipped, crooked, or decayed teeth.
Veneers are a durable cosmetic treatment providing a perfect new smile in a short amount of time. If you’ve tried cosmetic treatments like tooth whitening but are still unhappy with your smile, veneers are a good option for you. Many people who whiten their teeth still have gaps, chips or misaligned teeth that can be corrected with porcelain veneers. Or, if you’re unhappy with the size and shape of your teeth, veneers can give you the fuller smile you want.
Your dentist will only need to prepare your tooth by trimming half a millimetre or less of tooth enamel. This is done so the special bonding agent has a better surface to adhere to and your porcelain veneer is more stable. With the bonding agent applied to your tooth, your Morden Dentist will place the veneer then use a special light to quickly cement the veneer to your tooth.
You can completely transform your smile in just a few weeks. After your initial consultation when impressions of your teeth are taken, we send the materials to a lab to make your customized porcelain veneers. This process will take between two and four weeks.
Once you have porcelain veneers, you’ll need to maintain them because your enamel has been removed in order for the veneer to be placed. Most veneers last between 10 and 15 years before needing replacement. You can maximise the life of your veneers by practicing good oral health habits, just as you would for your natural teeth. Have a good hygiene routine, address any tooth grinding issues and use mouthguards when playing sports.
